The Edgewater Hotel & Sculpture Park || Nicole & Josh
When you travel to Seattle you think of Starbucks Coffee, The Space Needle, Pikes Place Market, and many unseen venues that have so much rich history. Including The Edgewater Hotel.Photographing a beautiful November wedding at The Edgewater Hotel came with some perks. One of them was a meeting room that we were able to photograph in because, as you all know, Seattle has 152 rainy days a year! During the fall and winter months it can be especially windy and wet to photograph outside. I enjoyed photographing the couple and when push came to shove we improvised in the hotels meeting room over looking the water for the first look and getting ready photos of the Bride. Nicole & Josh’s wedding exuberated a moody style. I had the task of using my off camera flash knowledge along with natural lighting coming though the windows. I played with my camera settings to get the right light and I loved capturing the small details of the boat behind the couple outside the window, another benefit of The Edgewater Hotel! During the ceremony at the Edgewater my creative juices were flowing and I captured playful images in the mirrors and the stunning architect and chandeliers with the couple as the main focus in these images.
Later we did get a lucky break in the weather. This allowed us the chance to photograph the couple and the beautiful Seattle Sculpture Park as the background. We headed back to The Edgewater Hotel and captured candids of their guest, speeches, cutting the cake, and then we danced the night away. The Edgewater Hotel is a magical place to get married at and I hope I get another opportunity to photograph at this breathtaking venue.
